One of the first games to hit PlayStation VR is Batman: Arkham VR. The game lets you play as the dark knight, but since it’s in VR, those words take on new meaning.
The game is currently available on the PlayStation 4 and Pro, but requires a PSVR headset to experience it in it’s true form. The headset isn’t yet available to the general public however, but that didn’t stop Sony and Rocksteady from demoing the game to reviewers and other publications.
Here’s what everyone thinks of the game:
Wired reviewed the game and called it smart, scary and short. In fact, that last is a recurring theme, with multiple reviewers complaining of the game’s length. The game is only $20 (around Rs 1,330), which is quite cheap as far as console games are concerned, but we won’t know if the length justifies the price till we review the game ourselves. Wired also calls the game a fun introduction to VR, a showpiece for everyone to try.
Another reviews site called VR Focus checked out the game and complains that the game feels a lot like “work,” saying that the game was “franchise for franchise’s sake.” They do dwell on the mechanics a bit, explaining that the game is more about Batman as the world’s greatest detective than as hunter of baddies.
Metacritic quotes IGN, which didn’t seem very impressed by the game, but VideoGamer seems to have loved it.
GamesRadar seems all praise…
UploadVR felt the need to be a bit punny…
What do you think? Will you pick up Batman: Arkham VR any time soon?
