The F-Pace is Jaguar’s first SUV which has been gradually rolling out around the world. Today the company has silently brought the car to India. Initially it will be offered in two diesel engine options and variety of variants including the Pure priced at Rs 68.40 lakh, Prestige at 74.50 lakh, R Sport at Rs 1.02 crore and the First Edition at Rs 1.12 crore.
The two diesel engine options include a 2.0-litre Ingenium engine, which can produce 180bhp and 430Nm of torque. According to the company, it will do the 0-100 km/h in 8.7 seconds and a top speed of over 200 km/h. The second option is a 3.0-litre V6 engine that can churn out 300bhp and 700Nm of torque. This one can go 0-100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds with a top speed of 241 km/h. Both the models will come with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and AWD as well. A 2.0-litre petrol model is also expected to arrive in February 2017 that will produce 240bhp.
Jaguar is expected to officially launch the F-Type at a large-scale event in Mumbai on October 20.
While the F-Pace competes against the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the BMW X3 globally, in India however it is Rs 18 lakh more than the GLC and about Rs 20 lakh than the X3. So technically it should compete with the BMW X5 or the Audi Q7. Recently we heard that Jaguar is working on building anelectric version of the F-Pace.
