Fresh reports indicate that Justice Ademola Adeniyi ran into troubled waters after collecting a bribe in a terrorism related case.
There are allegations that a bribe of N350million paid toJustice Ademola Adeniyi over the terrorism links case involving Amigos Supermarket boss might have orchestrated his current ordeal.
According to a report by Sun Newspapers, the prominent Federal High Court of Abuja Justice got into troubled waters with the DSS after the agency traced an alleged bribe in case of the suspected terrorist financiers, Mustapha Fawaz and Thahini.
It was further reported that the 16-count charge brought to the court by the Federal Government against Fawaz and Thahini alleged that the businessmen were members of the military wing of a Lebanon-based terrorist organization, Hezbollah.
A DSS source was quoted to have said Justice Adeniyi ran into troubled waters when some of the agency's men got wind of the alleged bribe.
The source alleged further that though the same information was passed to the immediate boss of DSS, Ita Ekpeyong, nothing was done until the current boss of the agency was sworn in.
The DSS disclosed that the sum of N54m cash, $171,779, 4,400 Euros, 1,010 Rupees, and 80 pounds was found in his residence, during his arrest.
Meanwhile, Justice Ademola had enjoyed the protection of the DSS for handling some sensitive cases including terrorism related cases.
