Finally, Microsoft officials have confirmed there won’t be a band 3 this year, according to ZDNet.
While there is no Band 3 at the upcoming event, Microsoft removing any reference of the Band from its stores has only further added fuel to the fire about the dying Band lineup. Citing a tipster, the report claims that a cached version of the Microsoft Online Store listing from October 2 showed the Band devices, but by October 3, all references to the Band devices were gone.
Further hinting at the dying or rather dead Band lineup, the report reveals that the Band software development kit SDK has also been removed. “Microsoft is believed to have disbanded the software team that was looking to bring Windows 10 to the Band a couple months ago,” adds the report. However, there is no official word on Microsoft plans to kill the Band fitness lineup.
Some previous reports said that Microsoft Health app could be renamed to Band app, and the company reportedly said that it will continue to support the Band 2. Meanwhile, there are reports about the company’s plans to launch an AIO Surface PC this month.
