Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A expected to launch soon as retail box and specs leak out

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A expected to launch soon as retail box and specs leak out

Xiaomi is likely to launch Redmi Note 5A in coming weeks as the specifications and retail boxes of the smartphone have surfaced online. According to a report by ITHome (via GSMArena), the image of the retail boxes look legitimate and this could hint at an imminent launch for the device.
The Redmi Note 5A will be a successor to the current Redmi Note 4. It is likely that Note 5A will be a watered down version of the Redmi Note 5 similar to how Redmi 4A is a cheaper version of the Redmi 4. The report speculates that the Redmi Note 5 is likely to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 or 660 processor.
According to the specifications leaked on Twitter (tweet above), the Note 5A will come with a Full HD 5.5-inch display. Inside, we can expect a tried and tested Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 along with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. An interesting thing to note about this device is the fact that it packs a dual camera on the back as the Redmi Note 5 is not expected to pack a dual camera setup on the back.

The smartphone will pack three cameras in all with the Omni Vision sensors, OV12A10 and OV13880 on the back and a Samsung S5K5E8 sensor on the front. The rear cameras will come with 12 MP and 13 MP sensors while the front camera sensor is expected to feature a 5 MP unit.
