Deputy Secretary of State John J. Sullivan met with Danish Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen on June 27, 2018, in Copenhagen, Denmark to reaffirm the strong partnership between the United States and Denmark. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed defense spending and shared priorities for the upcoming NATO Summit. The Deputy Secretary also thanked the Foreign Minister for Denmark’s contributions to NATO missions. Deputy Secretary Sullivan emphasized the importance of European energy security and encouraged continued opposition to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project.
