The United States congratulates Jair Bolsonaro on his election as the next president of Brazil. We salute Brazil’s strong commitment to democracy and congratulate the Brazilian people on participating in a successful election.

The United States and Brazil share a vibrant partnership based on our mutual commitment to promote security, democracy, economic prosperity, and human rights. As two of the largest democracies and economies in the world, we are working together to address the 21^st century’s most pressing global and regional challenges.

We value our deep cooperation with Brazil and look forward to working with President-elect Bolsonaro in the coming years.
