Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom Sam Brownback will travel to Islamabad, Pakistan and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates February 21-25.
On his first visit to Islamabad as Ambassador at Large, Ambassador Brownback will meet with senior Pakistani officials to discuss opportunities to advance religious freedom.
Ambassador Brownback will then travel to Abu Dhabi to deliver keynote remarks at the First Regional Conference of the 2018 Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom: Interfaith Tolerance Education to Combat Extremism, hosted by the United Arab Emirates.
The conference will convene a wide range of participants, including government officials, civil society representatives, and expert practitioners. Ambassador Brownback will also meet with stakeholders to exchange best practices and foster the introduction of religious freedom curricula and respect for all faiths in educational development in the region and beyond.
