Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo met today with Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah al-Khaled al-Sabah. The Secretary thanked the Foreign Minister for Kuwait’s enduring strategic partnership and friendship with the United States. The Secretary and the Foreign Minister discussed important regional issues, including progress on the Middle East Strategic Alliance. The Secretary and the Foreign Minister agreed on the importance of a united GCC in confronting all of the region’s challenges, including from the Iranian regime, and ensuring the success of the alliance in advancing prosperity, security, and stability in the region.
