On behalf of the Government of the United States of America, I wish the people of Myanmar a wonderful Thingyan holiday.

As people join together to celebrate Thingyan, we are reminded of the richness and beauty of this annual tradition. This joyful time of new beginnings presents an opportunity to reflect on the values of peace, tolerance, and equality to which the people of Myanmar aspire.

The United States sends warm regards and best wishes for a prosperous new year to all.
